Osmotherley Pre-school is an award winning Pre-School setting, situated in the scenic North Yorkshire Moors village of Osmotherley.

We can offer your child fun filled mornings of activities, to help children learn in a warm and friendly environment.

We have indoor and outdoor play areas, toys, cooking, books, songs and rhymes, quiet area, visits/outings, dressing up and sand/water play.

We work closely with Osmotherley School, situated next door. Children benefit from the strong link, making for a natural progression into full time schooling.

Our vision to create a forest school site is now well established and further enhances the rapport we have with school and the local community. Thanks must go to Mr and Mrs Thomsett for allowing us to use The Applegarth as an extension to our initial site, in the school garden. The children now have access to a much wider environment and are benefiting from the many sensory experiences that playing outdoors offer. Our fire-pit provides ideal opportunities for cooking activities and teaches the children about fire safety and risk-assessment. Gill Hunton is our qualified forest school leader and all staff and volunteers have undertaken various levels of training to support forest school activities. Photographs that demonstrate what forest school is all about will be posted in the Gallery in the very near future.

We are also very proud to announce that we have successfully achieved Stage 2 of the Pre-school Learning Alliance Reflecting on Quality accreditation process and hope to complete the final stage in February 2012. This framework recognises our continuous strive towards quality improvement and reflects our commitment to establishing positive parent partnerships and providing children with outstanding care and education.
